Incinerated Love

31 Dec

by P. Mohan Chandran

My heart, you burned to ashes,
And left behind, indelible rashes.
You turned it, and also twisted,
The more my problems, I listed.
You pinched it hard and squeezed,
To survive, an artificial heart, I leased.
You poked it deep and made a big hole,
You threw it down and trampled under your sole.
You buried it into the earth, so deep,
And left me alone, to eternally weep.
Seeds of love I sowed, but tears did I reap,
Pains, like bumper harvest, piled in a heap.
Except heart-break, nothing did love yield,
I realized, I was awaiting crops, on a barren field.
It was too late before I opened my eyes,
But after I did, I really became too wise.
